The Mari-tech Park

The Preston Bus Station has always provided a significant landmark in the city since it was completed in 1969 and it remains one of the most significant Brutalist concrete buildings in the UK. This project is to develop creative ways to reuse the now almost completely redundant building and developed ideas that would work in the context of Preston as a city today.

What you see here is a completely new parkland experience that celebrates life below the neighboring sea’s surface and portrays the narrative of our stored marine resources in such a way that puts Preston on the tourist map. Imagine a day at the Beach, an exciting architectural visit, a chance to view the normally hidden sea life and an exploration of new technologies focused on sustainable futures.
