LiveBetter is a multi-year initiative focused on sustainability and broader social impact, including donations and investments in a greener future. I’m grateful to have contributed as a designer on this project for 9 months.
Through this experience, I deepened my understanding of concepts like carbon footprint and how CO₂ emissions are calculated. More importantly, I saw firsthand how many organizations and communities are working tirelessly to protect our planet. To me, this is more than a UX project—it’s a meaningful effort to raise awareness of the urgency of sustainability and to encourage collective action.
A key challenge we aimed to address was building trust and influencing behavioral change, helping people adopt more sustainable habits. To achieve this, I focused on making sustainability more tangible—using clear data, credible evidence, and engaging visual interactions to help users better understand real-world impact. The goal was to create a sense of connection and responsibility, motivating users to take action. These actions can range from small steps, such as offsetting their carbon footprint, to more significant contributions, like donating to organizations such as the Red Cross to support victims of natural disasters.
In September 2024, we also launched SpendBetter, a feature within LiveBetter that highlights Singapore-based SMEs offering sustainable products and services, further supporting the local green ecosystem.
